Panda Cloud Test File
March 9th, 2010
Similar to the EICAR file, we have created a small “Cloud Test File” which can be used by testers and users to verify if their Panda product can successfully connect to the Collective Intelligence cloud-scanning servers.
The file PandaCloudTestFile.exe should be detected:
- During HTTP download
- On-Access
- On-Demand
Download PandaCloudTestFile.exe. It’s MD5 hash is E01A57998BC116134EE96B6D5DD88A13. Alternatively you can also download a passworded RAR file with the EXE in it. The password is “panda”.
DISCLAIMER: This file is *not malicious*. If it is detected it simply means your Panda product can correctly connect to Collective Intelligence.
NOTE TO OTHER AV VENDORS: Please do not add detection for this file.

hmm, my PCA doesn´t detect the file as malicious?!
@Jonas Ahlzen Try again, we were just finishing uploading the detection to the CI servers.
“If it is detected it simply means..”… what if it’s NOT detected?
My PCA won’t detect it during http transfer, on access, or on demand.
My PCA (1.0.1) doesn’t detect the test file…
But it says it’s correctly connected to the Internet!
Still not working for me!
Now it’s correctly detected as Trojan/CI.A
Sorry guys there was an error yesterday while replicating the PandaCloudTestFile detection to the Collective Intelligence front-end servers. Should be fixed now.
Yess, “Virus Neutralized” =)
Which products will this tool check? I am trying out this tool with Panda Cloud Antivirus but nothing seems to happen?
@Peter Piksa
Worked here on panda cloud antivirus…
“Virus Neutralized”…, neutralizes it before opening the file, is that correct?
Hi, i would like to now how can i make that mi PCA can detect the Testfile, cause i have downloaded it in another two computers and it was detected without any problem but i tried the same in a third one whit no results
Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 says it’s “Backdoor.Win32.Bredolab.djl” and blocks it
@Forial Interesting, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
In the last days the file not blocked from Cloud Antivirus During HTTP download and
On-Access.
Before it was nothing. Recently, the detection is rather slow. There are a lot of congestion at the servers?

More and more AVs are detecting it as Bredolab :S
Haven’t scanned the file with MBAM yet.
File was not detected during download but was detected during access.
@Darkcom It could be normal. Which Panda product are you using?
Ive downloaded the test file. ran it, even scaned it with panda cloud. It dosent come up with anything. So I must get rid of panda cloud and find something more reliable. Im well disapointed…
@Jason Can you activate advanced logging, repeat the test and send me the log file please?
@Pedro Bustamante
Hi, I removed comodo firewall, privx and then reinstalled and panda cloud. Now Panda is detecting the file ok now. So I not really sure what was causing the problem. Im just about to reinstall comodo firewall I don’t think that was the problem. But ill let you know.
Panda cloud is working fine with comodo. Im not going to install privx again. I dont know if that was causeing it. But Im happy again now. Long life the Panda!!
yeah..it really works..
I installed it on another computer and it not working today. I uninstalled 3 times already. Is there an issue with the panda servers again?
My Panda Cloud AV doesn’t deteck this file. I can start it after I download.
This test file has been detected by McAfee as trojan horse… Well it seems it does its job.. but to late.. im currently downloading cloud AV.. i hope that he can scan my computer in 1 day.. not like mcafee almost 2 days
I tried to install on windows 7 (apple boot camp partition). Panda cloud antivirus wouldn’t detect the test file.
My Panda Cloud beta 1.1 is considering wmp.exe, which is Windows Media Player, as “dangerous action” everytime I opened the exe or music files. Any solution?
@Nam Nguyen please send the details to beta@pandasecurity.com to help us find the root of the problem.
i downloaded the file 5 times but didn’t detect it!!!!!!!
i tried eicar files, all of them worked and were nuetrilized immediately, but still doesn’t work for PCA test files….WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!!! Is PCA working or not!????
We have had some problems on and off with this detection as the sceptic filter of PCAV sometimes did not query the cloud. It is fixed with version 1.1 of PCAV.
i reinstalled the beta v.1.1 but still didn’t work. Eicar files are still detected. Is my PC safe?
@Dani– Yes it is safe. The current beta doesn’t yet have the fix. Keep an eye on the support forums for when we publish a new beta or the final 1.1 release which does have the fix.
I am getting unexpected error code 11. When I click on send us a message it does nothing. I went into the folder for help files and when I click they say error 11 – no internet connection. I have never had trouble with this before. Nothing has changed. Worked fine last week then today it boots up with the redx.
I opted for the d/l file to be run. In the next minute I got a copy of the above blue Box saying file is for checking – does that mean it was detected or it never ran?
Downloaded the test file and Panda booted out a couple of “suspicious” files, one of them a virus. I’ll take that to mean it’s working just fine. I’m very relieved! Thank you Panda people. You’re good folk.
once i do PCAV scan it by right click command, it just says scan is completed..is it functioning correctly..if not then what should i do as my internet connection is always on and i see there is fault in the AV itself..pls sugest fast!
if you want i can send the jpg screenshot of scan and message..just confirm that is my AV working correctly?
test file was detect as Trojan Tri/CI.A….Thanks for creating the test file….
Panda Cloud Antivirus Works Great…..Thanks for makes it free…..
