Vista compatibility

First it was Panda Antivirus 2007 for consumers and ClientShield for corporate desktops, now also Panda Antivirus+Firewall 2007 Beta (aka Titanium version 6.01.08) is compatible with Windows Vista. Check out our Vista Compatibility Information site at http://www.pandasoftware.com/vista for more info.

In addition to Vista 32bit compatibility, this beta version is also compatible with Windows XP 64bits and MS Office 2007. As it includes the new Panda Engine 1.4.3 it integrates the new version of Genetic Heuristic Engine and low-level rootkit detection. There's also some major usability improvements with its alerts, messages and install/uninstall processes.

You can download Panda Antivirus + Firewall 2007 Beta directly from here. For automatic updates of the signature database you can use CCF227ANMB and KPW7K2E4 as the username and password respectively. Be sure to contact beta@pandasoftware.com with any problems or suggestions.

I tried this and it wants me to renew and pay more money when I just bought this software a few months ago.  Now I have a new computer with vista and I'm supposed to buy '08...?  Nice rip off!

Actually Phil the latest 2007 versions available for download are compatible with Windows Vista, so you do not have to pay absolutely anything to get a Vista compatible version. Simply log in to our website's Client Download Area to download a Vista-compatible version of 2007.

Can you post the exact link to the "website's Client Download Area"

Thanks

Phil...

It seems you might have 2 different products registered. Depending on which credentials you use to login you will access different accounts. You might want to try the "password reminder" at http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/support/details/password/

Posted by Pedro Bustamante at 18 October 07 1:01 AM

Tried that, it gives me the same login info that takes me to the page that say's I have the trial version.  Mind you, the info: customer ID, username, and password emailed to me by panda are the same as the originals that were issued to me when I first started my account.  I know this for fact as I saved them in text file.  So... I wait on hold again.

Phil.

I recently bought a new laptop with Vista (unfortunately).  I previously used Panda without probs on older computer.  Now that it is used with Vista I am constantly asked to update it.  When I try to update it tells me my details (ie client number and password are incorrect).  When I ask to "check details" it tells me they are correct.  Try to update again, same message.  I have been told to uninstall, download again and install - I have done this several times with no success. The most recent download managed to auto update for about 3 days and now no more.  I am ready to remove Panda - tell me is it Panda or Vista that is having the conflict.  Could Panda be conflicting with Windows antivirus s/w somewhere?  I have turned off W. Firewall and Defender.  Other antivirus installed with computer at sale was supposedly removed at sale.  I am using Panda 2007 & Firewall.  Cathie

I sent a msg days ago and no reply, maybe I didn't submit it correctly.  Anyway, having continual probs  updating Panda on Vista.  It used to work on old computer.  Now if I uninstall and download new copy it will update for a day or two then shows error 401, saying user name and password are incorrect.  This has been on going since purchase of new laptop and Vista.  PLEASE HELP.

Posted by cathie at 17 December 07 3:28 AM

Cathie are you using the username/password mentioned above in the post above (CCF227ANMB / KPW7K2E4) or your own registered username/password?

* If it's the one mentioned in my post above, these are credentials that were valid only during the beta period of PAV+FW 2007 and they are no longer valid. In this case you should contact our sales office to get your own registered details.

* If on the other hand it's your own personal username/password which are not working, please contact Customer Service at (818) 543-6901 to verify their validity.

This is the third week I am attempting to get answers on a new computer I bought to replace and older one that crashed. Weeks of messages went unanswered.

It has the vista home premium operating system.

When I finally got to a person with some knowlege, I removed Mcaffee and downloaded the new system for VISTA using his data.

My internet explorere failed with the following error:

assert in lsd

Iexplore.exe

g_socket_datalookup(c)==0

capture/lsp/nolsp/wsp_patches.ccp:1313

After much misery, I removed PANDA using the uninstal and my system works fine.

UnfortunalyI have 3 licenses to 2009 for PANDA

So what next????

I bought a laptop with Vista Home Premium, and with preinstalled Norton IS for 3-month trial. Norton has expired, I've uninstalled it. I restarted the computer, downloaded and installed the latest version of Panda IS 2008.

When the installation completed I clicked on "Restart" but my laptop did not restart. The Vista operation system was unable to load and the screen was black, the laptop was frozen. I could only restart the op.system with the F8 botton, according to the last proper configuration.

My Panda does not work, it sends me a message in every 5 minutes "Panda IS 2008 was unable to load file protection".  I uninstalled and installed Panda several times - also turning off Windows Firewall and Defender - but the same problem occurs every time.

I've also run the Norton Removal Tool on my computer to remove hidden Norton or Symantec values from the registry.

The Status - Security of Panda alerts me of  errors in protection against known threats, firewall protection and the protection level of internet.

How can I solve this problem?

Bought Vista Home Premium for a custom built computer and had a friend ranting about Panda. Panda released the IS 2008 too early is not ready to work on vista right off of the dvd fromt he store. It's crashed so much I could not restore! Finally reinstalled Vista and got Panda IS 2008 (new download off the website) working. I had to register Panda on the website while in SAFE mode!! Now can not get RF Online or Secret of the Solstice(both mmorpg's or online games) running. I have tried all kinds of permissions and settings changes.  AIM Express is blocked as well. Online support on Panda's site is not complete or organized that well. I hope they put out more patches soon with better documentation.

To all of you who've had problems under Vista, you can download the latest version from the download area of our website:

http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/downloads/tree/

You will need a username/password to access the client download area.

If you're not a registered customer, go to our home page and you'll be able to download a 1 month free version from there.

hi , i want too changhe my windows , but i have a panda antivirus apdates than pay along time too apdate it . can me save my updates to new windows whithout another download its ?

   Posted by X_BOY at 15 October 08 1:32 PM

Yes X_Boy, it's a file called pav.sig in the Panda directory. Copy it to the new machine and from the Panda program, click "Update, From Local" and then choose the directory where the file pav.sig is located at.

I also have a new computer with Vista Home Premium to which I've loaded Panda AV+FW 2008 v7.01.00. Before installation I removed Norton 360 (which was never activated) through both Control panel and using Symantec's Norton Removal Tool, disabled Windows Defender and Firewall. Each step was followed with compter restarts to ensure removals before Panda was activated.

Once I activated Panda, the Firewall error began and has persisted after several uninstalls, re-installs, and countless restarts. The only way to get any level of protection is to perform a "Custom" install and NOT install the firewall, which means I have to depend on the Vista Firewall.

Tech support was of no help. They were unable to tell me if Panda creates an installation error log that I could look at or send to them so that we could identify the specific conflict.

So, if anyone has managed to resolve this issue, I would appreciate any guidance. As it stands, when my license expires I will permanaently uninstall Panda and look for an alternative protection package. I am paying for FULL protection of my systems and am NOT getting what I paid for.

I just bought a new laptop with Vista.

I can not install Panda global potetion 2009: acess denied o c:\windows\system32\pav. I presue this is because the system32 has only "read only" permissions. Do you have a soltion (I a not able to change the permision).
